Choodiyan

Ramadan ka mahina ho aur der raat baazar na ghumo to sau taane dosto ke sunne padte hai ke bhai eid aaye aur ek raat bhi hamko na di, kab tak ammi abba se daroge, biwi ke ghulam ho gaye ho aur na jaane kya kya.. Bas isi tanz taanose bachne ke liye main Altamash ke saath Bazar nikal gaya tha.. Haan maqsad ye bhi tha ke apne aziz dost ke sath zyada se zyada waqt guzarna tha.. Par maine ye socha bhi nahi tha ke jab uske sath (darasal pichhe pichhe) jab mai dukan dar dukan ghum raha hoga tabhi zindagi mujhe ek azeem aur utni hi dilkash cheez se waaqif karane wali thi..
Wo cheez thi Choodiyan..
Haan choodiyan. ye wahi adna si choodiyan thi jinhe maine bachpan me maa ke haatho me ghumakar khela karta tha, ye wahi choodiyan thi jo bade pyar se meri biwi pahenti aur sambhal kar rakhti thi.. Par meri nazar me ye badi hi aam si cheez thi, itni aam ki inke taaluq se maine kabhi socha bhi nahi tha..

Sonchta bhi kyun ye wo jagah thi jaha ammi bahen aur biwi ko perfect match aur set k liye kai baar waqt barbaad karte dekha tha.. Aur jab bhi choodiyon ki khareedi ka waqt aata badi hoshiyari se jaan bacha kar nikal jaata tha.. Par aaj nahi..

Aaj shayad choodiyon se rubaru hone ka waqt aa chuka tha..

Qissa Ameerzaadi ka

Aaj Bhai Altamash kharidi kar rahe the aur ham pichche pichhe ghum rahe the ya yun kahe dukaan ke baahar khade hokar Facebook pe waqt zaaya kar rahe the.. Tabhi achanak se ek aawaz mere kaano par padi, “uff kya chhoti si dukaan kuchh varieties hi nai hai.. Hame yahi style chahiye agar hai to bataiye warna jaane do..”
Gar dekhna ho khudparast ko to dekhlo is mehjabeen ko aaj
Waqt ka pata nahi kal ye takabbur ho na ho..

Ammi ki pyarwali choodiyan

Dukan dar dukan chakkar lagaate waqt ek jagah bada hi khubsurat manzar nazar aaya.. Ek chhotisi dukaan Me shayad ek maa apni beti ke saath aayi thi aur shadi k sets dikhaane k liye kah rahi thi.. Mujhe laga Shayad us bachchi ki shadi ankarib thi..
Rahi baat mere bete ki mujhe pata hai wo bhi surkharu ho jaayega”..
Uff kya manzar tha bahu ki aankho me khushi ke aansu aur saas ki aankho me beinteha pyar!!

Bees rupiyewali khushi

Jitni bheed market me aurato aur aadmiyo ki thi utni hi bheed bachcho ki thi.. Chasme, belts, ghadiyan kharidte hue bachche.. Mehandi, purse, choodiyan aur jootiyan kharidti hui ladkiya.. Wo itar ke faayo se mehka hua baazar yahi zindadili to hai jo online shopping karnewale mujh jaise log nai dekh sakte..
Un dono me mujhe mere papa aur meri bhanji nazar aaye. Aate bhi kyun na, sirf dhai saal ki hone k baawajud meri bhanji isi tarah se apni farmaishe jatlati aur puri karwati hai aur mere papa bhi un zido ko yun pura karte hai jaise maano wo Charagh k Jinn ho aur meri bhanji Aladdin..
In khayaalo ka silsila tab tuta jab ek buzurg aadmi jo bade hi saada libas me ek chhoti si bachchi ko god me liye fir se choodiyan kharidne aaye aur laakh ki choodiyo ka puchh baithe.. Achraj ki baat ye thi ki Laakh ki choodiyan market me aana band hue 2-3 saal ho chuke hai.. Mai ye baat jaanta tha kyun ke aksar pahle ye choodiyan chhote bachcho k liye istemaal ki jaati thi na sirf ye sasti hoti thi balke ye haatho ko iza bhi nai pahonchati thi..

Laakh ki choodiyon ka tazkirah sunke choodiwala muskura diya kahne laga bademiyan kaafi saal ho gaye unhe band hue, Ab to zamana plastic, kaanch aur brass ki choodiyo ka hi rab gaya hai batao kaunsi dikhau?

Buzurgne ek lambi saans li aur bole mahangai bahot badh gayi hai bhai ab to haalat ye hai eid bhi wa’eed si lagti hai jab kharch karne jeb me paise na ho.. Ek kaam karo is bachchi ke haath k liye 20 rupeeyon ki choodiyan de do..

Buzurg ye baat sunkar mere aankho me aansu aa gaye aur Qaisar-ul-Jafree sahab ka sher zubaan se besaaqta nikal gaya

Ghar laut ke royenge maa baap akelele me

Mitti ke khilaune bhi saste na mile mele me..

Dukandar ne bade itminan se badi khoobsoorat choodiyan nikali aur bachchi ko pahnai, perfect size tha, ek darjan choodiyan pack karke jab wo buzurg ko dene laga to buzurg ne kaha beta ye mahngi lag rahi hai itne paise nahi hai mere paas, dukandar ne muskurakar kaha bademiyan aapke liye ye sirf 20 rupeeye ki hai..

Altamash ke saath mai waapas chal to diya par un Buzurg ki baat aur us dukandar ne 20 rupeeyon ke aiwaz me di hui khushi ka khayal ab tak dil me machal raha hai aur ye puchh raha hai ke kaun sahi haqdar hai eid manane ka wo dukandar ya mai??

Tum soch rahi hogi kya bas cheezon ka hisaab rakha hai?

Hisaab har jazbaat ka hai jo tumse juda hua hai..

Wo jo pahli baar tum yu itraai thi aur meri shayri pe yu muskurai thi

Wo jab tumne pahli baar thaama tha haath mera Wo jab pahli baar meri aaghosh me aayi thi..

Hisaab un jazbaat kaa bhi hai jab tum toot toot ke roi thi hamaari pahli ladaai ke baad..

Hisaab un jazbaat ka bhi hai jab badi berukhi se chhoda tha tumne mera saath..

Main yu to yaad dilaana nahi chaahta tha par ammi kahti hai 77 raate mere kamre se rone ki aawaze aati thi..

Abbu kuchh kahte nahi par ab wo bewajah yoon hi daantate bhi nahi..

Baap hai na wo har haal jaan ke bhi khaamoshi akhtiyaar karna farz hai unka..

Bahen bhi badi sanjeeda rahti hai meri chehre ki maayusi dekh kar par wo pagli aksar mujhe hasaane ki koshish kar jaati hai..

Ye to bas kuchh chuninda jazbaat hai jo socha tumhe bata doon

Hisaab nahi lunga tumse mere Ashkon ke qatro ka

Naa hi hisaab lunga tumse wo laayani farebi mohabbat ka

Tum dogi bhi kya hisaab ke apni mohabbat to bas meri akele ki kahani thi

Usme thi to tum naam ko shaamil magar tumhare har jazbaat me beimaani thi..

To jaao, aur jaake khush raho kahi par

jaha tumhe lage yehi hai tumhare zindagi ki manzeel

Par haan, Jab aaogi palatkar waapas to le jaana ye jazbaat bhi,

ke maine sambhal rakhkha hai tere liye..

Jab aaogi to le jaana..

The Great Pretenders

There was a time when people used to socialize in real. They had social gatherings and outings, they sang and they ate together. But there were “Folks” who called it “being naive”.
These “Folks” were willing to achieve supremacy. And thus they invented Technology. These gadgets brought the world under fingertips. And “The Folks” were able to meet with other folks from places they had never heard about.

By the time Technology evolved and everyone including “The Folks” who were being referred as Scientists got so used to it that they contributed as much as possible in inventing and evolving Virtual Reality. The generations got so addicted to it that they forgot how the real world looked like, how did the birds chirp, how did the mountains echo, how did the rivers flow and how did the humans laughed at social gatherings..

But there were few…

The ones who had lived long enough to see both the social gatherings and the virtual reality. They took some young blood (kids and youth not the blood literally) with them and showed them how people lived before the technology evolved to what it was at present.
The young blood liked this old yet new way of looking at and living life and they continued to do so.

The Folks and all others who got addicted to Technology called these people living old way of life “The Great Pretenders”.

Trip to Dapoli – Witnessing the other side of Life.

Ask any IT professional about his company, work and salary, you will always have to hear a bad thing or two. Its blessing in disguise if you are working in corporate. And when you go on restriction free team outing you realize it gives you ample amount of opportunities to see different side of your coworkers, my experience was no different. The day we planned our outing for a beach, I was sure sea will change people and will make them show their different style of life.

They say, if you are in love everything looks beautiful. I would say if you are in love with nature then every gaze you put out from window enriches your heart with beautiful aspects of world to be stored forever. On our way to Dapoli, Anjarle & Murud I witnessed many such beautiful and magical moments.

IMG_8576

While the world is producing chaos every moment, Hindu Muslim unity was the most noteworthy fact of our trip. People with different culture, religion were abundant and all had affection in their eyes for each other. The most beautiful thing I saw in that small village was a Mandir and a Masjid built right next to each other. People did offer their prayers in there own way and lived in harmony. The affection and respect was not customary it was something which came out from heart, no double standards. I wondered why people from larger towns keep hatred in their heart and kept grudges for other religions. Can’t they understand universal brotherhood the way these villagers have not only understood but are actually living daily.

In India we say “Atithi Devo Bhav” which means “Guests resemble the God and so they should be treated that way”. In the times of colonial societies when your neighbors don’t even care if you are alive or dead, these Poor People with Rich Hospitality and even Richer Hearts depicted what we had forgotten about guests. No matter if they have resources or not, no matter what situation they are going through they are always happy to help. May it be showing you directions, suggesting eateries, giving boat rides or selling you fishes the feeling of respect and affection drips from every word they say. I recall reading it somewhere that if you want to see real India visit villages. I dare to change the saying as “visit villages if you want to witness the true Indian hospitality.”

IMG_1359

If someone is visiting a beach and is not talking about sea then chances are that person didn’t enjoy anything and was a loner better say looser. How beautiful it is to see the forms sea takes throughout the day. Often calm from outside still hiding terrible things beneath. Or sometimes showing his angry side as if to tell us that the calm the person is usually the more troublesome it can be when tested over the limits. The first thing that came to my mind after seeing sea was a, poem by one of the very famous poets in India.

Hajaar jivhaa tuzya garju de pratidhwanine tya
Samudra dalmalu de taare
Viraat vaadal helkaawu de parvat paanyaache
Dhalu de dishaakon saare..

Meaning..
(oh sea) let your thousands tongues roar with echoes. Oh sea let the stars crumble(in front of your challenges). Let the huge wave storms dilapidate mountains of water. Let all the navigation get diminished.

If you have an artistic mind sand on the sea shore becomes your canvas and you go on expressing yourselves. Same was with me, My favorite past time was spending time on sand, writing names of characters I’m creating for my stories, my website’s name. Oh boy I was revisiting my childhood.

They say nature is your biggest teacher, I say, “bravo!! You said it correct”. The sunrise, the sunset, the Silence of the sea, the trees, birds, sky, the moon everyone has something different something new to be learnt by us. They give us chance to perform introspection, think on how people and careers can reach zenith and disappear as if they never existed. The quality to be implemented to stand still even in the worst periods, the chance to take a break and cherish the beauty God has created all around us.

If you follow Bollywood movies then you must be aware of the cult hit Zindgi naa milegi dobara and might also know the famous quote “One who can not swim is skilled enough to be drown..” It is a sarcastic humor and at the same time it conveys an even greater message that if the time is not in your favor then try to enjoy the downfall.

I was taught that if you want to know what is your country’s future then you should pay a visit to schools and meet kidult minds. These young and ready to be molded hearts are nothing but half baked clay, the way you mold them that shape they will take. Although there are people who want to poison these sprouting minds with the poison of religious extremist shit the only thought I was having was may Almighty drive these kids on the way of success, happiness and may make them a catalyst in the emergence of India as a superpower.

No matter how much booze, smoke or huqqa you have, you cannot avoid mentioning Fish when you blog about a beach. I feel I’m not capable of praising this divine food. (Sorry PETA, whenever I see fish i see food 😉 ) No matter how much money you pay, you can’t thank enough to the family who fed you till your heart was contempt. And we all are thankful to the family who not only cooked the best fish I had in my entire life(Mom, I wish you don’t read this or ignore & move ahead 😉 ) but also served it with love and affection.

Ending with one sher which really depicts the true calm, silent, powerful & patient nature of sea.

Three Wishes

Last night an Angel to come and asked, tell me boy what are your three wishes? God ordered me to fulfill them.

I replied wittingly, “Oh Angel, don’t ask me about wishes. I’m a much satisfied person than I look.”
Suddenly I thought about you and said, “But I’ve a very amazing friend”.

“Take care of her.
Shower all the happiness in the world on her.
And fulfill all her dreams & wishes so that she will never cry and be smiling always!!”

Surprisingly the Angel replied,
“Oh Boy, you might not know but I feel you are deeply in love with her and that’s why all you wish is her happiness.”

Now I’m puzzled, is it actually Love?

What do you think?

Enchanted: Under the spell of Love.

Every human being at some point of time believes in magic, enchantments and spells. And hell yeah the generation which grew up along with Harry Potter certainly wishes to see these things more desperately. He was no different. Although being a full grown up, working in corporate, earning handsome salary he craved for these enchantments.

A workoholic bachelor living with friends going out on silent rides has everything which he needs to be contempt of, still he was searching something. Searching it so badly as if he was on a quest, a quest which may be the last of his life.

It was a routine day, he was working as if his ass was being ripped off for a headlined project and he felt somebody passed from right in front of him. Out of sheer curiosity he glanced at the passerby. Just another new joiner girl. Not as interesting as the work he was doing. He glued his eyes to his monitor again. By the time he was done with his assignment his friends were echoing his name to join them for lunch. The same usual crappy food, whats all in it to be excited of he thought to himself.

When for the first time he made an eye contact with her in cafeteria that moment gave him goosebumps. He felt as if he saw an Angel. Tall, fair and beautiful. The long curly hairs seemed like a mystery to him which he would try to figure out for eternity. Her black eyes were the black diamonds which God must have created to beautify this girl. He was enchanted by her innocent smile. Enchanted so badly that he himself never even would wish to be out of it. He was so mesmerized by her that he never even realized that his usual crappy lunch was over and he had to go back to the work.

The work he loved so badly felt useless bugger to him. He was under spell. A spell casted by a magician in her unawareness. He heard his inner voice telling him that this is what you were searching for. This is your quest. May be last one of your life. Madness, attraction, craze, infatuation or love whatever it was, he was enchanted.

In the beginning he hesitated talking to her thinking she might consider him yet another moron trying to woo her. He never wanted that. The only thing which kept him fascinated about her at the most was her honest innocent smile. She never faked it, she never could. After the first interaction he felt he was something. Someone in her own universe; may be a commoner, may be more than that, or may be nothing at all. But he assured himself about the second case. She started acknowledging his presence with the enchanting smile and he was on the top of the world or may be in the core bottom of ocean where no one would know what is going on.

He is still befriending her taking it slow and steady. May be the destiny beholds the secret of their togetherness or may be the friendship will be end of her spell.

Doesn’t matter if she knows or not he would love to be under her spell, forever.

Nation’s Judgement Call.

It’s in every Facebook post
It’s on every twitter wall
Buckle up your lazy ass
Nation has made judgement call..

Country needs women and men
Glory will be ours then
It is fight for justice, humanity and pride
Truth is our only possible ride
Responsibility is mine and is of us all
Nation has made judgement call..

We fight against corruption, illiteracy and more
Let our voice become a lion roar
Religion can’t divide us nor the political boar
Voting is must and is prior than every chore
Don’t plan a movie in cinema hall
Nation has made judgement call..

We are independent since 47
but have not removed poverty even
Two meals a day is a dream for many
We still fight for every single penny
Why free hospitals so less but thousands of mall
Nation has made judgement call..

Bygone be the massacre, bygone be the conspiracies
Live in the present and think about human species
Don’t fall for Modi, Gandhi or Kejriwal
Think twice before you vote cause
It’s Nation’s judgement call..

The Known Stranger.

He was a good looking guy, one who was very much attentive towards his hairstyle cause he believed in the motto ‘First impression is the last impression.’ He loved staying in the limelight and may be that’s why he scored pretty well after putting determined efforts and was renowned as one of the nerds. But the truth was he was never a nerd, he was a poet, a mischievous one, who used to tease girls at school. Girls who were attractive (especially those who were egoist) were the usual victims of his sarcastic poetry. May be that’s why his group was limited to only seven lads who were dedicated towards their goals of lives.

She was a financially middle class student, a daughter raised with values, pride of her parents. She used to wear Hijaab (veil) because she was beautiful or she looked beautiful because she used to wear Hijab was a mystery for everyone including herself. Undoubtedly a book worm. She wouldn’t even care to look who is sitting next and hence according to his definition she was an egoist.

Coincidentally their seats were allotted parallely. On the very first day of the junior high school (10+2 in India) their eyes met and they were drenched in the showers of love. She was bit shy and hence there was no scope that she would have spoken to him first. Although he was dashing, he hesitated in talking to her considering the fact about his mischievous behavior she may avoid talking to him.

The year was gone with the wind and they both passed with good grades. Destiny played her role again and both were admitted in the same college for different streams. He used to behave as if he was her watchful protector and would take care of her like a silent guardian. In the annual college gathering he dedicated a poem to her without taking her name. He called her the Known Stranger. She liked it so much and surprisingly he won the first prize too!! Their love was an untold truth to them. But they never uttered a single word to each other, never talked sweet nothings of love or even expressed it openly. They were happy with the silent love which was blossoming day by day.

Meanwhile they both graduated. He went to Pune to pursue his MCA and eventually became a Security Analyst. He got to know that she was gonna pursue her Masters in Biotechnology but she disappeared in thin air, God knows where. He had thought of proposing her once he had settled down in his career but she was unreachable for everyone.

And now in this strange world of possibilities he is searching for “The Known Stranger”. Lets hope he meets her 🙂

Fandry: A story of Love, Life and Latitudinarianism

It had been a long time since I had gone out for watching a movie with my Team. One fine day my MD Preetam asked us for organizing a movie event and surprisingly he himself suggested the movie entitled Fandry. The moment I heard the name I Googled about it and got to know that its a Marathi movie. Although I was not very much happy with watching a movie whose promo looked as if it has been shot in ancient times the only thing (obviously apart from MD’s suggestion) which made me give it a shot on day one was it had got nice responses.

On the Valentine’s day when Love was in the air my team was working tiringly  on checking out for security threats in code base and monitoring monotonous Apache Logs same day Fandry was released and we reserved our seats for an evening show.(Yeah I had no date, no lady love was expecting me to buy her Roses to talk sweet nothings). I ended up with working 10 hours straight relaxing myself with couple of Tea cups and smokes before we reached Inox with only one question in mind what does Fandry mean?

When we made ourselves comfortable on the luxury class chairs couples were entering holding their arms around each other and it made me feel like, ‘guys seriously is it really worth watching this movie on Valentine’s day, go on for a long ride instead.’ No sooner the movie started it worked as a spell on me with the true rural language and locations used for picturization.

The movie revolves around a poor boy Jabya (Somnath Awghade) belonging to a cast which is considered as untouchable(Yes its heinous truth of wannabe superpower India in 21st century) in rural areas, desperately desiring to hunt a black Sparrow. His family consists of a down to earth, uneducated, society fearing father(Kishor Kadam), a typical mother(Chhaya Kadam) who has equal affection for all her kids but who had to ask her son for forfeiting his desire to buy jeans so that she could save some money to marry her younger daughter. A divorced sister and ofcourse another sister who is about to get married. The boy Jabya is blessed with two friends who look for his back in thick and thin. And obviously a lady love Shaalu(Rajeshwari Kharat).

Jabya has a crush on Shaalu and she knowingly or unknowingly acts as if she knows it and Jabya feels she is reciprocating the same. He has dreams and he wants to live them. He sells ice candies to buy a jeans and t-shirt to woo her. Also he is trying his best to hunt a black Sparrow which he wants to burn and use the ash to make Shaalu fall in love with her. He dislikes the job his family does of catching the stray pigs and tries to keep himself away from it. The best part about Jabya’s performance is the way he blushes. 🙂

Nana (Jabya’s father) pleads everyone and works on any job he gets so that he could earn bread and butter for his family. Nana carries a deep grief that one of his daughter has been divorced and he has to pay dowry to get her second daughter married. As he belongs to a lower cast he is asked to catch and kill stray pigs causing nuisance which he alone is incapable of doing because of his increasing age.

Every seen is mesmerizing, every character is beautiful and every single statement from the movie is a bitter truth. May it be Jabya’s hiding somewhere to avoid facing Shaalu when he or his family is doing odd chores, Naani(Jabya’s mother) visiting Jabya’s school to check if he is studying properly, Jabya’s father humbly requesting to alliance that he can not pay a great amount of dowry as he is a poor man, Jabya’s friend teasing him on the name of Shaalu or again Jabya’s father crying his heart loud in front of his son that he is poor and belongs to a lower cast and hence can not fight with society.

The movie depicts some really mind boggling truths from Indian society like rich-poor differences, upper and lower cast differences, how people treat poor and lower casts, grievous rituals, dowry problem and what not. When the movie is about to end Jabya nad his sister carry the hunted pig on their way home from school, they pass from the painted photos of Social Leaders Mahatma Phule, Savitribai Phule, Gadge Baba who heavily contributed in reforming the lower casts decades ago and Jabya never even got a glimpse of their reformation, as if he is asking did the reformation actually happened or its also just a myth. The movie ends with Jabya taking an aggressive stand against the wicked society and challenging them to test him.

There are three people who deserve a standing ovation Jabya(Somnath Awghade) with his innocent later determined stand towards love and life, Jabya’s father(Kishor Kadam) who acted as if he actually is living the character and Nagraj Manjule for writing & directing this movie.

When the movie ended we hardly spoke to each other, the only thing we talked about was the fact that some Jabya and his father was going through all this while we were watching the movie in an A/C theater and the world was celebrating Valentine’s eve.

PS: The movie has English subtitles so even if you don’t know Marathi you can watch Fandry. I am promoting and recommending this movies with a deep hope that when some Jabya might need help and you are in a position to help him you won’t have to think twice before doing the noble act. (Well you need to watch the movie to know what Fandry actually means too!! )

It Hurts when you say Goodbye.

Why didn’t you thought about this earlier? I had already told you about our marriage concept on very first day, right?

What is wrong? Why can’t you just sit with me and tell me what is bothering you? Is it what I feel what it may be?

Why have you taken this decision at this moment? Why after we have walked together for such a long and when there is no looking back?

Have you at least thought it for once that what impact it may cause on my heart?

I Love You So Much, Please Come Back!!

What was the use of the secrets we shared, the promises we made, the time we spent, the dreams which we had together, the care we had for each other? At least I cared for you and will always do.

What should I do about that? Our first date? Our first kiss? Our fist fight? How can you forget all these? Can you ever forget when for the first time you cuddled me and promised to never leave me?

I was happy with my heart lost. What should I do with it when you will return it back to me ? Cause I always believed and still do that my heart belongs to you. Only you.

Just because our religions are different, our parents won’t allow us to marry? Does that mean we can stop loving each other?

I know that our parent have done a lot for us and we can never ever hurt them but I am definitely not afraid of this society. It really never meant anything to me. What mattered to me was my Family and now You too!!

Just for once close your eyes and say that you never loved me, not even once? You never felt anything for me? You never ever missed me? And now you don’t even want to talk to me just because your parents said not to?

Can you ever avoid me? Can you ever see in my eyes and say directly that whatever we had in between us was a lie?

Ask your own heart and if answer of any of the questions is against our love then I will never bother you again and will never come in your way. Yes I will leave you forever although not by choice but by force.

You know what, “It hurts when you say Goodbye.”

You have made me that person to whom his beloved after piercing a knife in heart asks, “does it hurt sweetheart?” and I have to say, “No Darling not at all.”

You have made me that person who has to say,

ना झिन्दगी मे खुशी है, ना मौत हमे बुलाती है.
झहर हो चुका है दिल, अब तो सांसे भी हमे सताती है…
